National Champion breaks record!

National Champion of Vikesland and figure-head of the Vikesland Power team has broken a Deadlift record at RPS Spring Supremacy in New York this past week. Sir Martelle also known as the Math Librarian has several Martial arts and MMA titles to his name along with power lifting accolades. The national champ tore his triceps in South America a few months ago and has bounced back from it at a superhuman rate. King Christopher had this reaction.

“Sir Martelle is simply incredible. Here is a man who was horribly injured a few months ago and has now broken a record in lifting a ridiculous amount of weight for his age and weight category. That is what champions are made of!”

All of us here in Vikesland are proud and look forward to seeing more wins in the future. Here is a link to a video of his performance.

Vikesland Government and Monarch seek constitutional changes.

King Christopher of Vikesland has been in talks with his Royal council in regards to changing our government structure. The restructuring would change our current democratic system to rest more power in the hands of the King in the form of Royal decree.

Ninety percent of our current constitution will remain unchanged. The changes will allow King Christopher to rule more autonomously and in a much faster more efficient fashion. The Royal counsel will still have relevance in matters of national and cultural significance.

“Microcon was a smashing success. President Baugh and First Lady Baugh did an excellent job of setting up and facilitating this conference. I hope to attend the next Microcon in the future! I enjoyed it so much I am hoping to do something similar that takes place almost entirely within Vikeslands borders.”

nations 10th Anniversary celebration. The flag seen to the right, has been a staple for a decade and is now being reworked to represent the Viking spirit and our northern land base. King Christopher said this:

“The flag needs to change to reflect our true identity here in the Kingdom of Vikesland. When I founded this Micronation I did it in the spirit of the Vikings moving into new areas of life very few had gone before. The flag has been redesigned to reflect this and allow us to visually take our place among other nordic, arctic and antarctic nations. It’s time that our flag reflected our true identity as Vikeslanders. Our national colours of red and white remain with the addition of blue representing our harsh winters. A redesigned double headed eagle that reflects the increasing might of our security force. Our flag is similar to a standard nordic flag with the addition of the double headed eagle.”

King Christopher has also decreed a tenth anniversary coin is to be minted to mark this milestone along with anniversary stamps. All of which should be available for purchase on a newly designed website and store in the near future.

The Kingdom of Vikesland Royal Embassy Located in Brandon, MB. is still currently under a flood watch. The nearby Assiniboine river still has not receded fully back within its banks. Mid summer torrential downpours across the Canadian prairie provinces caused another second flood to occur. The Vikesland Ministry of the Interior will most likely lift the flood watch until spring when it is expected yet another deluge will hit.

King Christopher has completed two more documentaries this summer and both will be available to see on the Stories from home MTS video on Demand network. King Christopher is currently in pre-production for another major documentary on Roller derby as well as a horror film and possible reality television series on Vikesland and other Micronations.

Vikesland Embassy once again under flood water threat!

These last 2 weeks have seen days of torrential downpours across the Canadian and Vikesland prairies causing huge amounts of overland flooding as well as causing the Assiniboine river to once again burst over its banks. The water level will once again reach critical height like it did in 2011. Flood protection measures since that last disaster have been improved but nothing is one hundred percent foolproof. The Vikesland embassy has been declared under an evacuation notice in case the water comes over the dikes. Vikeslandic forces are on standby to help in the evacuation if required as are Canadian authorities.

Canadian media have been buzzing about the emergency. Click here to read one of them.

Embassy in Brandon, Manitoba. I have full confidence that the crest of this flood will come and go with no evacuation needed or disasters. I have ordered our security forces on alert just in case the worst happens but I am confident they won’t be needed.”

Prince Elgin made a statement in regard to what has been happening in Vikeslandic territory these last few days. “Vikesland is currently water logged and some of our small streams have swollen to rivers. The Trans Vikeslandic trail has water overflowing across in two areas hindering vehicle traffic movement across the country. I have issued a safety order barring passenger vehicles from driving on the trail and limiting it to ATV’s and heavy equipment. Other than that and a little water in the basement of the royal villa, all is well.”Elgin dive boat

The Assiniboine river crests today and is expected to slowly recede over the next two weeks barring any more significant rains.
